Here are some questions based on last Sunday’s sermon text (John 6:22-35), in case they’re helpful to you for personal growth or group discussion…
- [26] The crowd sought Jesus in order to fill their physical hunger. It’s pretty bold, going to God to give us things that we want more than him. What are some things that you personally believe will deeply satisfy you, so much so that you are willing to work for them and even make them a big part of your prayers or expectations of God?
- How does God interact with people who love other things more than him? In other words, how does Jesus interact with this crowd? (In other words, how does God interact with you?)
- [35] Jesus is “the bread of life.” That is to say, his own relationship to the Father is the source and substance of our life with God as we receive him by faith. Does that make sense to you? Is it important to you? Are you able to articulate this conception of Christianity in ways that are meaningful to people in your life who don’t currently trust in Christ?
