Here are some questions based on last Sunday’s sermon text (Hebrews 1:1-4), in case they’re helpful to you for personal growth or group discussion…
- [1-2] Why has God spoken? To whom has God spoken? (Think of specific examples if you can, like Sunday’s Old Testament reading from Numbers 12:1-9…) How would you summarize the overall content of his “speech,” his message? What does all this communicate about God?
- Do you read the Bible regularly? If so, why? (Sometimes this can be a difficult question to answer honestly…) What are you hoping to find? What is the purpose of a Christ-centered reading of all the Scriptures? What do your non-Christian friends think is the point of the Bible?
- [3-4] To restore those who doubted his word (Gen. 3:1), God sent his Word (John 1:1), his Son, to reveal, to redeem, to reconcile. Which aspects of God’s word (in the Scriptures) are hard for you to believe? How does God’s Word (Jesus Christ) help you to believe? How does being together with God’s people in Christ-centered, dialogical Worship help you to believe?
